In 2007, Professor Horng-jyh Harn served as the director of China Medical University Hospital’s (CMUH) Department of Pathology as well as the director of the Pathology Division, during which time he set up a molecular pathology laboratory, which was certified by the Taiwan Society of Pathology. The research team led by Professor Harn, from 2007 to 2016, has published a total of 68 SCI articles, obtained 20 patents, and developed two new drugs which also received a grant from the A+ plan by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.    

 

In 2011, Dr. Tze-yi Lin took over as the director of the Department of Pathology, and has spared no effort to develop molecular pathological examination items, and promoted the pathological subspecialty system, for the purpose of actively cultivating subspecialty talent. 

 

In 2016, Dr. John Wang was transferred to the CMUH Department of Pathology as the director, during which he has been promoting the certification of domestic and foreign pathology laboratories and facilitating the internationalization of the department. In 2017, the department teamed up with the Forensic Medicine Institute of the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and the Taichung District Prosecutors’ Office in setting up the CMUH Department of Forensic Medicine and the MOJ Central Taiwan Center for Forensic Science.
