減痛分娩的方式可分為靜脈注射或是硬脊膜外注射兩種，目前公認最有效的方式為硬脊膜外注射，屬於區域麻醉的一種。

最新的研究已經證實硬脊膜外減痛分娩不會造成第一產程遲滯或是增加剖腹產的機會。

且接受減痛分娩的時機，也經證實與子宮頸開口大小無關，故本院目前建議民眾實施硬脊膜外減痛分娩的時機，只要宮縮是有效且規則的狀況下，即可實施減痛分娩。

本院減痛分娩皆由麻醉科醫師親自執行，後續會根據每個產婦的狀況訂定專屬的止痛計畫，若有任何問題，歡迎與您的麻醉科醫師討論。
